    How should I restore a Backup - Please help

    I have done full backups for my Untangle Setup

    Should I do a restore

    Should I do a Factory Reset first ?

    Or can I simply just restore by importing the Backup File into Untangle and let it restore itself ?

    Config -> System -> Restore

    Click restore from file... browse to file... click OK

    What about this process is difficult?

      I understand how to do a system restore

      I am referring to the best practice for doing a restore

      so should i do a restore after a factory reset

      or

      should i do a restore with out a factory reset

            Ah, now that makes more sense! The only thing I can think of about the restore process that can be a bit confusing is the drop down involved.

            Knowing when to do a full restore, and a restore without networking is helpful for VRRP installs. It's also handy if for whatever reason the networking restore blows up a new installation. Relatively rare these days, but still happens from time to time.

            The only snag I know of? Don't restore from the physical console... strange things happen.
