  • Site to Site - Problem

    Hey guys!

    I got a huge problem...

I have to configure 1 server and 1 client for a site to site connection.

First of all, i red the guide about 20 times. And, i took a lot of cold ones

    Ok here i am.
    Server:
    Internal 10.0.0.254
    External 192.168.100.15
    Configured VPN Server
Added a lot of OpenVPN clients (they still work)

Client (i got two, 1 in my office next to the VPN Server and at my home):
Following the stats of the Client at my home:
    internal 10.0.0.1
    external 192.168.1.117
Here the problem: I tried to configure the untangle as a client. In the first step of the wizard he asks me for a Server Adress and a password or a file.
I created at the server a VPN Site and exported the file. But i'm not able to upload one of these files. And which Adress should i enter at the first box?

could u help me? Its my first site to site project.

    Router Ports opened!

If i have to take one more cold one, ill go to sleep...

Welcome to the forums. Its not going to be easy. The reason being, the Untangle has a private address on the external interface. So that tells me that there is an upstream router/firewall in play. You will need to create port forward and static routes to make this all work.
Port forward UDP 1194 and https port (just pick one and change that on the Untangle, config, administration to match it)

If the Untangle was at the very edge with a public IP address on the external interface, this would be very easy to setup because you don't need to worry about port forwards nor static routes for the VPN.
to be understood, you must first understand. :)

I want to get this one

      Network->Untangle(VPN Server, DHCP: on)->Router(DHCP: off)->WWW<-Router(DHCP: off)<-Untangle(VPN Client, DHCP: on)<-Network

But i dont get it, because i dunno how to connect the two untagle's?!

There must be a way to connect them.

I tried to configure the Client Site as "VPN Client".
Stoped at the step when i have to upload a configuration or insert the Server/Password.

        This is my problem.
I tried to upload the exported configuration, but it didn't work. I put the client into the same network and tried to enter the VPN Server IP. Didn't work!
I tried to enter the dyndns acc. Didn't work!

You are going to have some issues. Both of your Untangle's have an internal IP address schemes of 10.0.0.x.

Also, both of your Untangle's have a private address schemes, meaning, there is an upstream router/firewall in play.

If this VPN is important for you, you might need to ask a local reseller/partner for assistance.
Link to the reseller locator: http://www.untangle.com/Partners/Find

Don't get me wrong, if you have the time and patience, you can figure this out.
