  • Missing Route

    I have NGFW > L-3 Switch > VLANs

L-3 switch does inter-VLAN routing and NGFW has static route entries pointing to individual VLANs. VLANs can talk to each other.

Problem: When connecting to NGFW from the internet using an OpenVPN client, not all available networks are sent to the remote client. It's missing maybe 2 routes and so, the remote client can't access it.

How do I go about troubleshooting this?

Make sure they're included in the Exported Networks tab. That's the setting that actually includes those routes in the client config file.

Also, if you've added those routes after creating your client config(s), you'll need to re-download the config files.

How can we make Arista ETM products better?

      Thank you! That worked.

Though, I didn't have to re-download the VPN profiles. I have a DD-WRT router in the office connected to NGFW and it automatically got the missing routes after the change. Tried to connect my laptop as well over cellular and it too, got the new routes. All sorted now.

Ah, even better! You're very welcome.
