  • What are the category IDs for Application Control apps?

    Hi,

I'm looking at the report function: Category (Application Control). I want a report that only shows the category "VPN And Tunneling" and "Proxy". Typing the words in doesn't work, so I assume it needs an ID. Can anyone help me understand what I would need to do to create a report that shows the above info?

    Thanks!

For a list of categories, use "in" and list the categories in brackets. [VPN And Tunneling, Proxy] with no quotes.

Thanks for the advice, but it isn't working. Can you see if I have done anything wrong here:

I was quite baffled by this. I don't understand how Arista don't have any documentation on how to perform these queries and how the query you provided me didn't work. So I went back to basics and looked at how a standard SQL query would work, and it actually worked as expected with Arista.

        By formatting like this:
Category (Application Control) IN ('VPN and Tunneling', 'Proxy')

Everything works as expected. Using this syntax elsewhere in reporting works too, allowing for a much finer control of what appears in reports. I would certainly recommend including this in official documentation.
