Is there any benefit to running Lite when you have the paid version of Virus Blocker?

It is a second engine, but it's a very heavy one. Honestly, I don't see a ton of value in either Virus Blocker these days. The Web Filter's malware category zaps most of the stuff long before the AV engines see it.
